Victor MacLaughlin

Victor MacLaughlin -- Founder and CEO, Capital2Market

Victor has over 25 years in financial services including consulting, commercial banking, investment banking and being a FinTech entrepreneur.  Aside from starting, managing and growing financial businesses, he is also the co-author of Virginia's Intrastate crowdfunding exemption allowing private businesses to generally solicit and raise capital from non-accredited state residents up to $2 million. Prior to founding Capital2Market in 2016, Victor served as the Chief Operating Officer and Vice President of Sales for WealthForge Holdings creating solutions for issuers and platforms seeking solutions to raise capital online for private placement issuers and marketplaces.  Victor graduated from the University of Kentucky with a BBA in Marketing and currently holds FINRA licenses Series 7, 24, SIE and 63.

Ehud “Udi” Laska, Managing Director

  Udi is an experienced senior investment banker and executive with a strong track record of funding, building, running and selling profitable and turn-around companies. Since August of 2017 Udi has been supervising the investment banking activities of C2M Securities, LLC. Udi was, 2015 - 2018 the Chairman and CEO of Photonic Capital, Inc. Photonic Capital was a finance, sales and marketing company for the lighting retrofit market. Prior to joining Photonic, Udi served as a Director and a supervising CFO for 9 Lead Avenue, LLC, an Internet lead generation company from 2012 until 2015. From 2006-2012, Udi was President and CEO of Pelion Financial Group, Inc. a diversified financial service company he helped building. The group is composed of a pension plan administration company, a registered investment advisory company, an insurance agency, and a full-service broker/dealer. Among other prior engagements, Udi served as the Chairman & CEO of American Benefit Resources, Inc. (ABR), an integrated retirement benefits company. He built ABR through a series of acquisitions and at the time, it was the largest independent provider of pension administration and advisory in the country. Udi also served as a deputy CFO for Citicorp where he was responsible for long-term funding and capital compliance. He holds an undergraduate degree, High Honors, in Engineering from the University of Massachusetts, a Master of Science in Engineering from Brown University and an MBA from Stanford University. He serves on the Board of Directors of U. Mass Lowell College of Engineering, TerraCycle US, Inc. and Prestige PEO Holdings, LLC.

David Maughan, Managing Director

David has extensive experience as an investment banker spanning 45 years at some of the top banks on Wall Street. He has a proven track record with major firms and in entrepreneurial environments in the US, Canada, and Japan. In his career, David has successfully completed over 100 sell-side M&A mandates and numerous public and private capital raises – including over $3 billion in transactions for financials institutions. Viewed by clients and colleagues as a strong listener and creative partner, he has established new firms and banking efforts as a player/manager across financials as well as healthcare, life sciences and energy. Additionally, throughout David’s long and distinguished career, he has served as an investment banking expert in a number of important litigation cases.

Nancy Hament, Partner

  Nancy has a breadth of experience in all capital markets, both public and private. This includes over 25 years working across the entire capital structure notably in private debt and equity capital raising and M&A.  Nancy is currently a Partner at the New York and Richmond, Va.-based investment bank, Capital2Market. She focuses on advisory and capital raising engagements for corporates in multiple sectors and stages. Prior to C2M, she spent 5½ years at Scura Partners, a middle-market sell-side investment bank and 3 years at Sevara Partners, an energy-centric investment bank specializing in Structured Finance. Prior to Sevara, Nancy spent 10 years as a Principal/Managing Director at Credit Research & Trading, an investment bank specialized in High Yield Research, Sales & Trading and Special Situations advisory work.  She began her career at Lehman Brothers in Institutional Sales & Trading, spending 16 years in roles spanning corporate, mortgage-backed and high yield securities. Nancy also developed and led the International Fixed Income Sales Group. Ms. Hament holds Series 7, 63 licenses and graduated magna cum laude with a B.A. in Economics and International Relations from Brown University and an MBA from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.  She is on the Advisory Board of Fiver Children's Foundation (www.fiver.org) and lives in NYC with her husband and two daughters.

Max Melmed, Partner

Max started his career in electronic trading, ultimately serving as Chief Strategy Officer at SpeedRoute which routed ~2% of the overall equity volume in the U.S. at their peak. Max was responsible for business and product development, strategic partnerships, and overall business strategy. During his tenure, he helped grow the business tenfold. In a hyper competitive low latency trading environment, Max was able to work with the team and clients to design and implement innovative new solutions to more efficiently, cost effectively, and reliably access U.S. Equity markets. SpeedRoute, its technology, and its affiliates, were acquired by Overstock.com and their crypto subsidiary, tZERO, in August of 2015. Max went on to serve as Chief Strategy Officer of tZERO and was intimately involved in many of their strategic initiatives. tZERO launched the first ever public equity that was issued, traded, and settled leveraging blockchain technology in December 2016. They conducted one of the first Security Token Offerings, where Max spearheaded the whitepaper and business plan, which raised over $130 million from investors around the globe in 2018. tZERO developed and launched one of the first blockchain based secondary trading markets for private companies in the world in January of 2019. Max has spent the last 3 years investing, advising, and raising capital for private companies, with the ultimate goal of democratizing investment access and helping companies solve real problems. Max holds Series 7 and 63 licenses. His knowledge, relationships, and experience working at the intersection of capital markets and technology will be a valuable asset for Capital2Market.
